DSWOP Joseph L. LaManna DO Endowed Scholarship

The DSWOP Joseph L. LaManna DO Endowed Scholarship was established in 2005 by the Dallas Southwest Osteopathic Physicians, Inc. to honor Dr. Joseph LaManna’s extraordinary legacy of service to DSWOP and to the osteopathic profession. He has done more to raise the awareness of osteopathic medicine in Dallas in the last 50 years than any other physician in the city. This scholarship supports students pursuing a degree in osteopathic medicine.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Pursuing a degree in Osteopathic Medicine
  • Must be a second-year TCOM student
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Must demonstrate personal integrity, leadership and dedication to community service
  • Must meet federal guidelines for financial need. Applicants must complete the entire FAFSA process by May 1st.
  • Must answer the supplemental questions below -
    Explain your scholastic achievement and expertise in osteopathic philosophy.
    Describe what community service activities you have participated in.
    Provide name and email address for two recommendations from a faculty or staff member, community member, or a current or past employer.

Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the spring scholarship. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
