Walter S. Strode, D.O. Memorial Scholarship

he Walter S. Strode, D.O. Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000.00 scholarship that is awarded annually to one of the tuition scholarship applicants. It is to be used for fees, books, supplies and equipment. This scholarship is named after the late Walter S. Strode, D.O., who was a graduate of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. This annual scholarship is made possible by the generosity of the Strode family in partnership with our Foundation.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a second-year medical student applying for scholarship support for their third year.
• Be enrolled at an American Osteopathic Association (AOA)-accredited College of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Be a current Colorado resident or have demonstrated strong personal roots in Colorado. Preference is given to residents of Southern Colorado.
• Be a U.S. citizen.

Students whose tuition is fully covered by another scholarship or program are ineligible. Examples include the Indian Health Service, National Health Service Corps, and the Health Professions Scholarship Program through the Army, Navy, or Air Force.
