Texas Medical Association Future Physicians Scholarship

Scholarship applications accepted June 22, 2026 – September 20, 2026, for second-year medical students.

• One $12,000 scholarship is available at each Texas medical school for qualified incoming second-year medical students. The scholarship is disbursed in three equal $4,000 annual installments upon annual reapplication.
• Currently enrolled as a second-year medical student attending an accredited Texas medical school full-time.
• Not participating in a dual degree program.
• U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident of the U.S., or have DACA status.
• Demonstrates unmet financial need.
• Plans to practice medicine in Texas, with preference for underserved areas.
• Must provide all of the following:
• A valid student ID number.
• A copy of a letter from the medical school on school letterhead that verifies the applicant’s enrollment and expected graduation date.
• Proof of unmet financial need, as evidenced by a copy of the applicant’s Financial Aid Award document on school letterhead.
• A copy of a current Texas ID card or driver’s license.
