Elena & Thomas Yorio Endowed Scholarship for First Year Students

The Elena & Thomas Yorio Endowed Scholarship for First Year Students was established in 2008 by the UNT Health College of Biomedical & Translational Sciences to support first-year College of Biomedical & Translational Sciences students who show leadership experience and potential, a personal commitment to a college education, and research and personal integrity. The award was named to honor the contributions to the success of CBTS by founding dean, Dr. Thomas Yorio, and his wife, Elena, who, throughout the years, have made outstanding contributions and a tremendous impression on the campus and students.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a First-Year UNT Health student
  • Pursuing a Master of Science degree or a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical & Translational Sciences
  • Must be in good academic standing

Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the scholarship for subsequent semesters. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
