'Saperstein Endowed Scholars Award Scholarship
This endowed scholar award was created in memory of Dr. Phillip Paul Saperstein, who dedicated over 40 years to teaching future physicians. In his time at TCOM, Dr. Saperstein served as the chair of the department of family medicine and program director for the family practice residency program at Plaza Medical Center, professor in the department of family medicine, named TCOM Teacher of the Year multiple years, Clinical Instructor of the Year, and in 2009 was awarded the TCOM Founders’ Medal. The purpose of this endowed scholar award is to recognize a TCOM student for outstanding achievement in family practice.
Eligibility Criteria
- This award must be presented annually to an OMS IV student from TCOM.
- This recipient must have matched into a family medicine residency.
- The recipient of this award must demonstrate clinical excellence in the field of Family Medicine.
Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the scholarship for spring semester. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
