For Katie Award in Environmental Health Practice Research Endowed Grant

The For Katie Award in Environmental Health Practice Research Endowed Grant was established in 2015 through the generosity of retired faculty member Dr. Terrance Gratton and his wife Ramona Gratton, in memory of their granddaughter, Katherine Nicole Steiner. This is a research project award and is open to any UNTHSC student working on a research project during the period of award. The research project must be population-health-based and have an Environmental or Occupational Health (EOH) Practice approach. The award is intended to assist with costs necessary to perform research.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Any UNT Health Science Center graduate student who meets the continuing academic performance standards of his/her College at the time of the award.
  • Recipient must have a research project focused on population health-based.
  • Preference will be given to students who place first in RAD competition and their presentation is practice-based population health.
  • Preference will be given to students who plan to present at the annual APHA conference and their presentation is practice-based population health.

Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the scholarship for spring semester. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
