Ayesha Akhtarmalik SBS Memorial Quasi Endowed Scholarship

The Ayesha Akhtarmalik SBS Memorial Quasi Endowed Scholarship was established in 2020 by the UNTHSC School of Biomedical Sciences in memory of Ayesha Akhtarmalik, a Medical Science student in the School of Biomedical Sciences, who passed away on November 18, 2020. Although she found her previous experience with bench research to be thrilling, Ayesha was always passionate about the practice of medicine. Ayesha was a hospice volunteer and worked with Doctors without Borders, serving the doctors and nurses providing health care to the more than 3 million Afghan refugees in Pakistan. Her generosity, kind spirit, and passion for health care will live on in the lives she touched around the world, as well as here at UNTHSC through this scholarship created in her memory.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a UNTHSC student
• Pursuing a Master of Science in Medical Sciences degree
• Must be in good academic standing
• Must answer the supplemental question -
  Describe why you deserve this scholarship.

Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the scholarship for subsequent semesters. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
