Point Foundation Scholarship
All students. Point Foundation, established in 2001, was initially funded by a grant from Bruce C. Lindstrom & Carl T. Strickland. Point Foundation is what it is today the premier national LGBTQ non-profit organization designed to nurture the LGBTQ leaders of the next generation because of the generous support of others. Point Foundation empowers promising LGBTQ students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential despite the obstacles often put before them to make a significant impact on society. Anyone can apply that is enrolled physically at a University in the U.S.. (No online students); Very strong academic performance is one characteristic that Point seeks in all its applicants and subsequent scholars. Additionally, proven leadership skills and the desire to make a difference in the world are highly valued. Each person who applies for a Point Scholarship is evaluated on the totality of their situation. Academic achievement, personal merit, leadership, involvement in the LGBTQ community, professional experiences, financial need, marginalization, personal and future goals are all taken into consideration.
