Lilly Reintegration Scholarship

Open to individuals diagnosed with Bipolar Disease, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, or Major Depressive Disorder. The LRS is designed to offer financial assistance for a wide range of educational opportunities in which students work to attain a certificate or degree (eligible programs include: HS, Trade/Vocational prgms; Associates, Bachelors, Graduate Degrees (noncredit, online and distance learning courses are not covered under this scholarship). Established 16 yrs ago to help people w/ severe mental illness offset their tuition, books and lab fees. The mission is to help persons with these illnesses acquire the educational and vocational skills needed to reintegrate into society. Have a documented diagnosis of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, and major depressive disorder (to be included as of 14/15). To apply, you must be receiving medical treatment for the illness, including medications and psychiatric follow-up, or have a clear documented past history; be actively involved in rehabilitative or reintegrative efforts, such as clubhouse membership, part-time work, volunteer efforts or school enrollment or in a competitive employment. Complete an application package that includes an application form, essay, transcripts (if applicable), recommendation forms from three references and school financial requirements. Application available October each year; deadline each year approx. Jan 31st.
