The Alcon Scholarship in Memory of Joseph deFaller

Friends of Joseph deFaller shared that he encouraged many to continue their education. He was self-motivating, dedicated military personnel, UT Arlington graduate, and a biochemist, earning his Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology at UNT. Joseph worked at Alcon Laboratories in Fort Worth for over 25 years as a biochemist in Research and Development and a technical writer, where he retired as Vice President and contributed his expertise to the creation of two patented medications for ocular disease. Dr. Jerry Cagle encouraged him to go back into the guard and he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Green Berets.
